Course Objectives
This course aims to elevate the professional status of qualified swimming instructors and provide excellent teaching resources for promoting public fitness and swimming training. It emphasises swimming theory and training knowledge, strengthening the technical, physical, and recovery skills of swimmers. Upon completion, participants will be able to independently design and implement various swimming courses, develop innovative teaching methods, and coordinate swimming promotion plans and swimmer training.
Course Content
Theory Lessons:
Unit 1: Anatomy and Physiology of Swimming
Unit 2: Analysis of Modern Swimming Techniques and In-Water Training
Unit 3: Implementation of Swimming Theory and Technique
Unit 4: Selection and Training of Hong Kong Swimmers
Unit 5: Developing a Swimming Training Plan
Unit 6: Physical Fitness Training and Training Methods for Swimmers
Unit 7: Swimming Nutrition
Unit 8: Psychology of Swimmers
Unit 9: Land-Based Physical Training of Swimmers
Unit 10: Swimming Training Fatigue and Recovery
Practical Lesson 1: Swimming Teaching and Practice Lesson ( Swimming Pool)
Competitive swimming technique training, starting and turning technique
Practical Lesson 2: Swimming Team Training Practical
Trainees will be assigned to different swimming clubs for 16 hours of practical training courses, where they will undergo swimmer drills and practical training. Trainees must strictly follow the instructions of the head coach and, under his guidance, develop a swimming training plan, which must be submitted for evaluation at a designated time.

Enrollment Criteria
Must hold a valid swimming Teacher certificate issued by HK Swimming Teacher Association and be a current member of this association.
Those with a valid membership for three years or more / those with three years or more of swimming teaching experience will be given priority consideration.
Those holding an "Advanced Swimming Teacher Certificate" or a special certificate issued by this association will also be given priority consideration.
Applicable to non-members with equivalent qualifications:
- Holds a valid swimming Teacher certificate issued by an institution recognised by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government;
- Previously held a lifesaving certificate (bronze or above) issued by the Hong Kong Lifesaving Association;
- Educational attainment of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE) or Form 5 (before 2011) or above;
- Have at least three years of swimming teaching experience or above
- Those willing to participate in the association's free supplementary (six-hour) course sessions must achieve 100% attendance.
Upon completion, an award will be given.
Swimming Teacher Diploma
Upon completing the course, the candidate will be awarded a professional title by the organising committee.
